November
the ache of souls
spilling from the dark skies
down into the world,
this valley of tears,
beads a prayer
swelling
from the stillness of heart
tears had fertilized.
Remember
a world unseen
cries.

This is a poem inspired by DVERSE’s prompt for this Thursday, i.e., a Cherita –
"Form: the Cherita is a consecutive poetry form in three stanzas: a single line; a couplet; a tercet
[Rules are that it can be written solo or by up to three partners as well as being reversed in various combinations (called a cherita terbalik )] BUT for this prompt :-
-
Write your Cherita as a
mirrored/reflected 2 part form -
1;2;3; and a second part of 3;2;1 line stanzas."
some evocative lines here – especially tears as prayer beads
Thanks for reading and for kindly leaving a comment. 😊
so sad. yet beautiful.
Thank you for the feedback. 😊
Thanks. 🙂
I love the way you captured November in your Cherita, Imelda, especially ‘the ache of souls
spilling from the dark skies’.
Now it’s December and the darkness is here to stay for the next few months.
Thank you, Kim.
It is the same here in Eastern US. Days are short and often cloudy, so far.
Hi Imelda, how are you?
I am doing well although a bit busy with things.😆 I am trying to get back to some blogging though.
Nice to hear that.🥰
Achingly beautiful Cherita.
Thank you.
It is wonderful to read your poetry again, Imelda. I think you described late autum very well, the shorter days, the darker skies. Hope you have been doing well, and wishing you well this end of the year 😊
How, Mabel. Thanks for dropping by. How are you?
I am doing well and I am trying to write again.
I am doing alright. Had a bit of a blogging break this year. You write wonderfully, Imelda. May you find your writing groove again 😊
Your opening lines remind me of the prayers when we visit the graves. Love specially, beads a prayer. A haunting cherita. Hope all is well.
All’s good, Grace, I am trying to write whenever I can. And you are right, All Souls have been the inspiration for the poem.
A beautiful capture of November, sad and full of longing.
Thanks, Merril. 🙂
You’re very welcome!
Those final three lines really tied it up well.
Thanks for reading, Bjorn. 🙂
