Wintry winds may blow and heavily the snow showers
in threadbare petals stand tall these December flowers.
Like ancient calligraphy, stripped limbs rise to the skies
painting prayers; below, the earth shows December flowers.
How bleak the landscape, the cold is heavy in the heart
Contemplative eyes focus on December flowers.
When time has stripped beauty and all of youthful vigor –
what else remains? What sustains December flowers?
The streets bloom with merry lights blinking in rainbow hues
against the darkness, in the soul blooms December flowers.
For the world lost and wandering in the deep dark night
rose the Easter sun when came He, December’s flower.
Ring the bells, O warrior Soul, nothing is ever lost!
the blood of the Fallen Seed quicken December flowers.
Allow me to greet you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope you all had a happy blessed time. May this great feast of December remind us of hope and, therefore, joy, even when life deals us hard blows.

Thanks for the wellwishes. We did have a happy celebration with family. 😊 I hope your new year is a happy blessed one with family and loved ones as well.
A rather haunting poem for a wintry December, Imelda. I like how you admit that sometimes winter brings with it bleakness and heaviness – it’s dark, cold to the bone and you wonder what to do with yourself. Then as the poem went on I liked how you looked at the positive side this time of the year: Christmas, holidays and time with those who matter to you. Seamlessly written as usual and you always convey your emotions clearly to us. The New Year is nearly upon us. Best wishes ahead and take care 🙂
Hi, Mabel! Thank you for always bringing cheer hereabouts. If I have not said it yet, I just want you to know how much I appreciate your thoughtful comments. Thank you ever so much. Continue bringing sunshine wherever you are. 😊 I pray you have a happy New year. Here’s to successful plans and work. 😊🍻
