If I could
I would zip the voices
stirring up storms within
I would live
one day at a time
not worrying about tomorrows
trusting they’re in God’s hands.
But if I could not
Pray I’d still sing
like sparrows in a wintry morning.
To the sparrows who are ever present no matter the season.
Oh, those last lines are just gorgeous!
I love sparrows and can really relate to your words.
Aren’t sparrows cheerful and lovely? They are such happy birds.
Thanks for coming by, Jenna. Have a great day. 🙂
I, too, wish I could zip out the voices. Very nicely written.
It will be quite handy, isn’t it? Thanks for reading and dropping by, Caitlin. Have a great day. 🙂
A beautiful aspiration. I would like to zip those voices at times.
Thanks. 🙂
Beautiful poem prayer.
Thanks, Sabra. 🙂
Love your poem of trusting God to take care of our future like these sparrows ~ Your pictues are stunning ~
This brings up the hymn, ‘His Eye is on the Sparrow’ and what a way you have interwoven a humble prayer into this poem, saying what does not need to be said: (…and I know He watches me.) Beautiful poem, Imelda.
If only we we could let go and have as much faith as the sparrow do. This is a lovely poem, Imelda.
Thanks, Mish. 🙂
