Beauty escapes
the words I have
refusing
to be
pinned down
and reduced
to black ink on paper.
Foolish am I to think
my poem can
paint the soaring trill
of sparrows
greeting the sun.
My senses embrace
what they perceive
and I exalt.

Beautiful!

There is no better and honoring response than to exalt.

Yes, we are all very presumptuous to think we can even begin to try to put nature into words… But that is was we poets do… Very nice!

So true. 🙂
Thanks for dropping by.
Words objectify our subjective experiences and will miss much of the beauty we experience but may be good reminders when we need to experience them again.
…or to share, as Truedessa pointed out. Words are what we have to share what we have experienced.
Sometimes we just have to exhale instead of talking…. words are not enough.
Not to mention, words can spoil a a moment of beauty.
I think most of us feel that way…maybe that’s why we invent words…in an effort to make up for what we lack.
…True. Aside from that, words give us the ‘illusion’ of power over what we see or feel.
Thanks for reading and the feedback. Thanks, too, for the lovely prompt. 🙂
We try to capture the beauty of nature in words as we want to share what we see and feel.
That is so true. And words also help us remember. 🙂
Thanks for reading, Truedessa. 🙂

Words create …
Poems can paint
The Universe vibrates
with what is spoken.
You do express a poem’s gift so beautifully. 🙂
Thanks. 🙂
