Your silhouette mesmerizes me
It goads me to hold your face
to turn you toward the light
How would you compare to the shadow
that bewitched my mind?
Should I live with your illusory beauty
and find delight in my imaginings
or should I risk the truth
of revealing light?
Two weeks ago, I went for an afternoon walk around our neighborhood. As it rained rather heavily the night before, half frozen puddles sat on the grounds and on the streets. When I got to the pond, I saw a gaggle of geese and a paddling of mallards were playing in the frigid waters. I stayed until the sun set behind the trees. By then, my ungloved hands were getting numb from the below freezing temperatures.
