My beauty lasts but a short time and all I have, to you I give - My velvet blooms, capture in rhyme My beauty lasts but a short time Before rains make my death knells chime I hope I lived my cause to live My beauty lasts but a short time and all I have, to you I give. ~~~~ For dVerse's POetics: From Nature's Point of View
wish we could all live a magnolia life, with a purpose….so beautifully penned…
I like the idea of fulfilling one’s purpose as a gift.
Beautiful. What form did you choose?
I love suburbs at this time of year. The gardens are always so full of flowering trees. Such a treat.
It’s a triolet, Sarah. 🙂
I do hope to see Magnolia flowers this year before they are rained out. There are only a couple of trees in our area though.
They bloom briefly, but they’re magnificent! Great poem.
The magnolia’s perspective shares a sweet message for us all…..to be generous and unselfish, open our hearts fully. Lovely response to the prompt.
I love that you used the pink spring magnolia as opposed to the huge white summer blooms. Beautiful triolet.
Magnolia – what a source of joy. It seems so unselfish
Transience is a fact of life. Therefore they say to seize the moment, a moment of beauty for tomorrow it may be gone..
So much to see in so little a time Perhaps beauty is such!

Exquisite thoughts.Regards
Hello,
I love your poem, Magnolia, and was wondering if you would allow me to use it for an animation that I am making for a final project at my school? I attend the Kansas City Art Institute, and this suits my animation perfectly! I would give you credit, and I would be more than happy to let you see it after I am finished.
Thanks for your interest, Savannah. I am quite honored by your request. Yes, you may use the poem for your school project. I hope it works well for you. All the best to you. Oh, it will be neat to see your project. 🙂
Best regards, Imelda
Thank you so much!!
Heres my short animation involving your poem! I hope you enjoy!
Thanks so much for this, Savannah. 🙂 You are so talented. I wish you all the best.
Beautiful. I love blossom and this poem sums up it’s ephemeral beauty so well. Thanks for sharing. I love a good rhyme and the poem on my poetry blog here on WordPress is about rhyming in case you have time to look? Have a rhythmical weekend, Sam
Thanks for dropping by and the comment. I will definitely check out your page. 🙂
Thank you so much!
