That moment
when I caught him
watching leaves
falling from the trees
and reaching out
with his little arms
That moment
when I saw him
snapping a hawkweed flow’r
from its stem
and staring at it
laying on his hand
for however long
that moment
when he looks at me
his lips parting
into a tentative smile
his eyes bright
with questions
he cannot ask
is magic
pure and sweet
that bring wonders
to a jaded heart.
Is there anything greater
than watching the world unfold
through the eyes of innocence?
Not only a lovely photo but a beautiful poem to go with it too!

Absolute magic, Imelda 🙂 🙂
Wow I love this one
Thanks. 🙂
Can’t think of many!😉
Truly beautiful photo Imelda, and loved the poem as well. Perfect for this week’s challenge.
That’s a very sweet poet, Imelda. You capture the feelings a loving parent very well. Of course, in my case, it would be the moment when my youngest son gazed with wonder upon a fallen leaf and then tried to shove it into his mouth. 🙂
Fantastic portrait and words, Imelda. Thank you for the smile. 🙂
Being able to see things with the innocent eyes of a kid…. 🙂 sigh, how lovely…
Beautiful poem, dear Imelda… have a great sunday! 😀
I know that feeling very well… Diane
