You made yourself small invisible in the shadows you lived afraid to be seen or heard your tears rocked the walls of claustrophobic nights silent, they flowed like the ghost of your lost dreams you wished to hold again but not in this light. for: Dverse's Quadrille #17: Shadow
You walk only in the moonless night
Because your shadows are safe
Your tears buried in the belly of the night
You prayed hope born into reality your Knight

What beautiful lines. 🙂 Thank you for this very creative response (which I say is much better than the piece it responded to). 🙂
I like the subtle rhyme you have going here with nights/light. There’s also something about the blockish form of this piece that makes if FEEL claustrophobic. Well done.
I feel sorry for the subject of the poem. It sounds like he or she had to deal with a lot of sadness without anyone else’s understanding and support. 😦
Oh such nights I do remember… So troublesome when it happens
Describes anguish well. Very powerful verses, Imelda.
You evoke such sadness in this, the want to reach out to another who is in such pain.
Really well done Imelda ~
Thanks, Grace. 🙂
“like the ghost of your lost dreams”….oh how I love this.
A powerful piece, Imelda.
Thanks, Mish. 🙂
Very poignant.
