Raindrops hang from the boughs
they sit on the grass
twinkling like Christmas lights
The dry spell is over
Earth celebrates the bequest
Fall received from Summer –
Roses will yield parting flowers
Leaves will burst in wild colors
before the Wind hums
its plaintive tune
that will lull its world
to blessed slumber.
Daily Post: Twinkle
I like this!
Thanks! 🙂
Love this one, Imelda. Twinkling lights…so nice.
Thanks, Jane. 🙂
Love this poem, Imelda. You make it sound like an exciting and lively ride to winter. Hope you get some colourful leaves these year 🙂 Wonderful shot. Those water drops look like crystals 🙂
Thanks, Mabel. I hope the warm weather (and hopefully cooler nights) bring us vivid colors. Our area though is tempered by the coast so colors hereabouts tend to be more muted than in other ares of New England. Are you in the cusp of spring? May you have lovely flowers then. 🙂
We have just begun spring here in Melbourne. Last week the weather was 23’C/73’F and it was great. This week looks like we’re going back to winter temperatures, lol. Enjoy the warmer days while they last before Australia steals them 🙂
Ah, please feel free to take the heat from us. I have wilted enough already from the heat…I’d appreciate some relief. 🙂
Lovely poem, Imelda. Fall receives gifts from Summer – beautifully said.
🙂 Thanks, Ines.
