MID-SPRING IMPRESSIONS

LilacA cloud hangs above my head
– of lilac swaying in the breeze
I am not afraid of the rain
spraying petals   on my hair.

Thunder rolls from the woods to the fields
– of birds twittering in the trees
I am not afraid of the storm
tinkling like piano keys.

Tide pools around my feet
– of bluets glittering in an emerald sea
I am not afraid of the tide
sowing stars among the weeds.
