Gloom descended
like a stage curtain
crimson waters flowed
in a dark stream
specks of gold glistened
on the soggy ground
bare limbs stand
to what the rains wrought.

It’s been raining for days except for the 5 minute visit from the sun today. πŸ™‚ Happy midweek to all, rains or not.

  1. Oh Imelda, your poetry is difficult to adequately describe–phenomenal, eloquent and elegant, no matter the subject. And rain is a fave topic of mine–this poem of yours if wonderful, which simply doesn’t say enough.

    • You are so kind and encouraging. You do not know how much I appreciate your comment.

I have to apologize though for being slow in responses (sometimes I choose to visit pages over responding just to manage my time) and in catching up with posts. Days just pass so quickly hereabouts. πŸ™‚

      • Never apologize–blogging does take a lot of time, and you have a young family who MUST come first. I love to have you, whenever time permits!

  2. Beautiful and so captivating… Very evocative poetic imaginary. I particularly liked the four last verses, dear Imelda. Congratulations!. Best wishes to you, Aquileana πŸ˜€
