No. Let’s not talk about what used to be
your marriage, and how it had gone under
the weight of Her affairs, based on whispers
just for your ears. They are all that you see.

Please stop talking about His ill temper
or his jealous nature. They are quite clear
to everyone who has been in his sphere
even for a second. One learns to bear

the tempest rising from his mouth and hands.
Separation should have cured these complains.
But Time proved helpless against these etched pains
ever refreshed. Our hearts refuse to mend.

Is there healing when pardon yields to pride?
I am not your referee. I am your child.

  1. This is so awesome…WoW…lots to make one think and see one’s self or other’s with the written word… maybe some will have an epiphany in themselves, the past the present, many things …reading this. Impressive.

  3. Is this what you referred to as “enjambment”? How wonderful the connection between the poem and title and this little literary device! I remember learning about this before, long ago and I had forgotten. Thanks for the reminder!

    1. No, not this one, Sandra. Here, I was just following the technique I see other writers employ. I learned about the technique’s name, enjambment, in a subsequent post, He Loves Deeply.

Thank you for dropping by and for the encouraging comments. ๐Ÿ™‚
