BEDTIME

Sleep now, sleepy head
the night is getting old
let the moon be your bed
the clouds hide you in their fold.

Do not fear the darkness
a million stars will be your light
and  angels will stand as sentries
against the monsters of the night.

Go now, wander in your dreams
accompanied by the wind’s lullaby
until the golden sunbeams
bring you to my arms, dear child.

  1. A very soothing poem to recite to a child before bed. I really like
    “wander in your dreams
    accompanied by the wind’s lullaby
    until the golden sunbeams
bring you to my arms”…so nice…
