The loveliest rose
is the one on my hand
lending me beauty
beauty I had wished to have
lending me beauty
at the price of my blood.
Thank you for coming by. I am linking up with dVERSE POETS’ PUB’s Open Link Night. 🙂
Your roses and pictures are great as well as your poem!! Lovely Imelda!
Roses are my absolute favourite, especially old varieties as they have the perfume. The hybrids may be more reliable for shape but I prefer things which are a bit mishapen and smell divine.
This spring, I bought my first old rosé, Jacques Cartier. I am excited to see and smell its flowers. I also have some David Austins. I always wondered about the famed English roses and, after seeing their blooms, I understood why English roses are legendary. I prefer them more than the modern hybrid teas.
Love the poem and photo Imelda. Could it be some kind of lice or insect that causes it? Roses are so delicate and so pretty. 😀
Might be Japanese beetle and mildew. I can kill the beetle when I see it,but I do not know how to deal with. The mildew.
Well, it may not be that difficult at all. I found this lovely post. See if it helps :

I have my red roses too and they are wilting so fast ~ Their beauty is so fleeting ~ Beautiful picture and words Imelda ~
Thanks, Grace. I remember seeing a photo of your roses with the beautiful ode. They were both wonderful. 🙂
That rose is gorgeous, as are your words, Imelda.

Really? We have lavender here but it is planted in a different spot. I’ll see if I can transplant some near the roses.
Thanks, Claudia. 🙂

You are beautiful too, the way God created you to be:)
Beautiful capture of the rose!
I’m not a gardener at all, so I always admire your roses 🙂
