While we were driving around Roger Williams Park in Providence, we chanced upon this pair of swans walking on the frozen lake. I was surprised to see them around. I thought swans migrate to warmer climates during wintertime.
What a pity that they had to trudge through frozen ground under the snow….
..and to scrounge for food under these conditions…
Yet, after taking several photos of them, I wonder who felt colder: them or me? 🙂
Thank you for coming by. 🙂
Beautiful photos!
What wonderful photos…thanks for sharing them. I love the captions.
Peace,
stunning use of black and white…right on!
Thanks, Luke. 🙂

Thanks, Bams. 🙂
Oh Imelda!!! So nice pics!!! I agree with Brian…They are really elegants….I absolutely love the last one…The composition and the light on the swan´s feathers…
It would have been a sad experience if you only saw one swan. But since there were two of them, you kinda feel that each other’s presence is keeping them from panicking in the face of the elements. This post actually made me smile. Maybe seeing them (and sharing the experience with us) is supposed to teach us something. 🙂
I love the swans. The first picture looks like they are skating across a pond. It does look cold, though!
They look very quizzical…”what’s going on here”?…..lol Diane
