SUNDAY POST: SIMPLICITY

Once again, Jake posed an abstract concept for this week’s prompt: Simplicity. I have an idea of what it is, but I have difficulty articulating it. Besides, Simplicity has so many facets. Yes, Jake! Talk about being simple! 🙂 So, to make my life easier, I borrowed words from the masters to define what simplicity is. As for the photos, I turned them all into basic monochrome. Without the color to distract the eye, the eye focuses immediately on the image. At least that’s what I think.  🙂  Thanks for coming by. 🙂

      • Confession time. As I wrote my first comment I was on my treadmill and trying to walk and type on the iPad. Not easy! I wanted also to say I really like the way you made the photos black and white and sepia toned and it did what you had intended, the focus went from the colors of the image to the architecture of the image. Nicely done! 🙂

  1. Wonderful pictures and excellent way to show simplicity with monochromatic images! Did you use an app to write the quotes onto your pictures? (Is it Picasa? 🙂 ) Very nicely done, Imelda!

    • Hey Sandra! 🙂 Thanks for coming over and for the nice words. I used Picmonkey. I always thank you whenever I use Picmonkey. It is so easy to use – so much like Picnic before Google bought it out. 🙂

      • Yeah, it’s very user-friendly as you said. Oh, I hope everyone in the family is well now. We too have been battling colds on and off. I succumbed last night. I am glad too that your jury ordeal is done. I can imagine how stressful it could be to decide on one’s guilt or innocence, and at the same time think about the victim. I dread the time I will get a jury notice. I got two notices twice already but then I had a perfectly valid excuse for not complying: I was not a citizen yet.

I need to do a lot of catching up with blogs. Slowly but surely, I am getting caught up with friends. I thought I would have lots of time after the break – I guess I was dreaming. 🙂

Take care and keep warm all of you. 🙂

  2. ha what great quotes…i really like that last one…i am rather fond of questions myself…and answers when i get them, but not always…simplicity is a great goal…and there are many paths to the many definitions of what that means…
