WILD WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: ESCAPE (TO THE RED POND)

On Saturday, I got the chance to get out of the house on my own.    I spent my time visiting the pond and the nearby hill that I went to last Sunday.  Since it was the middle of the day, there were a few people in the park and at the pond who, like me, were watching the birds and the scenery.

Many trees have been stripped of their foliage.

The birds were having a fine day preening,

..basking in the sun…

..and of course, flying.  The flock of gulls took to the air several times for a few minutes and went back to their base.

It was sunny when I began my little escape.  A couple of hours later, grey clouds have covered the sky.

It was time to go home.

I am joining LET’S BE WILD’S Weekly Photo Challenge:  EscapeCee’s Fun Photo Challenge: Water and Nuture Photography Fall 2012 Challenge-   Red/Foliage.  Have fun – join the photo challenge. 🙂  Please check out the great entries.

Have a great week.   I hope everyone is safe from the storm.

  1. I love the photos – especially the last one with the two swans. When I was a child, I saw a painting of two swans in that pose and I loved how their necks formed a heart. You have such beautiful fall colors – thanks for sharing them 🙂

    1. Like you, I have always been fascinated with swans. When I was young, I only saw a swan from a soy sauce label 🙂 and then as a notebook brand. SO, I was always fascinated by pictures with those graceful swans. I didn’t know that there were swans nearby. You could imagine how excited I was – see, I even went back to that pond. NExt spring, I will certainly check if the swans are still there.

    1. Yeah, I like the last one two. I waited for them to get close. They did not form a perfect heart though. After that picture, they parted again.

    1. ha ha ha Oh that will be a bonus Madhu. I already had fun being out on my own, enjoying the scenery, and having some decent photos to post. The other entries are lovely – you should see some of them. You should join too if only to add more beautiful photos to the mix. 🙂

  2. These photos seriously brought a smile to my face. What a gorgeous place! Thanks so much for sharing with us in the Nurture Photo Challenge. Sorry for not stopping by sooner. I’m a little behind on blog visits. 😦
