TRAVEL THEME: SUNSET (IN THE BIG CITY)

One of the sights that I hoped to see and photograph while in the Philippines was the sunset.   Manila, Manila Bay in particular, is famous for its wondrous sunsets.  Bit it was way away from my itinerary.   We stayed in  the eastern part of the Metropolis.  There was no way that I could see the sun set over Manila Bay’s waters.  In the area where I stayed in, I would be lucky to see the orange sky behind the tall buildings.  However, one early evening (mostly around 6:00 – sunset in the near-the-equator- Philippines happens around that time throughout the year) while I was standing on a 9th floor balcony, I saw the sun as it was going down the horizon.  Needless to say, I took pictures showing the setting sun in the West and of the area towards the East until the street lights went on.

So here are some sunset pictures seen from a building in the Timog Avenue, Quezon City area.

The communication tower belongs to a major television network that has its headquarters in the area.
The view to the east.

You can also see another sunset themed entry here.  I posted this one for Ailsa’s Ocean theme.  🙂

Happy blessed Sunday to you all.

  1. Beautiful sunset. The sky seem so peaceful, providing hope that after all the natural calamities, political craziness, flood, traffic and all…there would be peace, happiness, of possibilities for a better life and tomorrow. I once saw the sunset of Manila Bay and I was like.”Oh, wow. It’s true that it is beautiful!”

  2. Lovely urban skyscapes Imelda! Love the composition of the last one. Hope you can catch that Manila BAy sunset on your next visit 🙂

    1. Thank you, Madhu. 🙂 I think you are right about the last one. I was too busy focusing on the sunset that I was not too concerned about how the other elements in the picture appeared. 🙂 And I am still learning too – so your comment is quite valuable.

  3. Very pretty. I like that you showed what was going on in the east, too. The “show” on that side can also become very interesting 🙂
