
This is a grate inside a ‘wishing’ well, kind of. The bottom of the well has rings inside of which is written the name of an animal and its trait. For a coin or two, one can find out what personality one has. I suppose the grate is to keep the coin-tosser from retrieving his coin in case it landed on a not-so-favored animal. ;-)
